    Types of Papers

View the paper options here. We can also print on acrylic. Please check your package for the inclusions. Additional fees may apply.

    House Papers

These are our top choice for classic invitations. Our house paper has light texture and comes in off-white or a creamy ivory. Artist may suggest the paper to be used, to fit your invitation design. Vellum paper is smooth and semi-transparent.

    Colored Cardstock

Depending on the color chosen, cardstock comes in 220-350gsm. Texture is also specified beside the color names -- smooth, textured, shimery, and so on. These are subject to availability. View the paper options here.

    Handmade Papers

The handmade paper is made one by one and has deckled edges. As such, it only comes in specific sizes (usually A5, and 4.25 x 6") and cannot be trimmed down. Colors are subject to availability. Handmade paper in particular is dependent on the manufacturer, they may change the quality at their own discretion.

    Handtorn Edges

An alternative to handmade papers, the edges are hand torn to achieve a deckle-edge effect. Commonly suggested if the client wants letterpress / print and debossed, as we do not accept this printing technique on handmade papers due to high paper wastage.

    Die-Cut to shape

Cards are die-cut to any shape. Preferably smooth and uncomplicated, as the mold is manually carved to shape.

    Envelopes

Our envelopes are die-cut and assembled in small batches. As such they do not have sticky seals underneath the flap edges. If you are mailing this through the post office, you can manually seal this yourself with glue or double-sided tape.

Some, not all, envelopes come with the Ink Scribbler logo based on artist's discretion. If you do not want a logo, please inform us.

    Printing Types

These are the available printing techniques. Please check your package for the inclusions. Additional fees may apply.

    Digital Printing / Flat printing

High quality laser printing. Best for small runs and rush projects. With this printing method, we are unable to print metallic colors. For example, if gold and digital printing is chosen, it would be a yellow ochre color, instead of a metallic gold color.

    Foil Printing

Foil stamping is a method of applying colored foils to a surface for an elegant look. Much like embossing, foil stamping uses a combination of heat and pressure to stick foil, and is perfect for metallic colors. This type of printing stands out on darker paper as it is able to print white.

    Debossing

Text is printed then pressed with a metal plate with your design. The effect is similar to letterpress printing, where the text is sunken / recessed. Ink color is CMYK, not metallic. Terms also used for this technique are: stamped, pressed.

    Embossing

Text is printed then raised with a metal plate. Ink color is CMYK, not metallic.

    Blind Emboss

The design is raised, without ink. Personally, I will not use this for complex designs. It looks before for simple, clean designs.

    Blind Stamp

The design is recessed/ sunken, without ink. Synonymous with blind stamp and blind press.

    Reverse Printing

    Direct Printing

Printing Color Choices: There are select colors for printing, available in this link here. If gold and copper are chosen, but foil printing was not chosen, then the flat color version of gold and copper will be used and will not have a metallic look.

Envelope Color Choices: There are select colors for envelopes, available in this link here. If handmade paper is chosen, then the envelopes will also be handmade.
